unit: minis

Grade 1-2

Camp will not be offering Mini, Bluewing, half weeks, Outpost, or adventure days this summer, we look forward to the return of these programs in the future.

The Minis program is designed to give the first-time camper a short but exciting taste of camp. 1st and 2nd graders are navigating new social situations and learning how to be independent. As Minis, they are given the opportunity to get a taste of independence in a small group led by caring counselors. Campers and counselors work together to plan a variety of classic camp activities. From singing songs around the campfire, to catching newts in the pond, getting creative at arts and crafts, and making s’mores over an open fire; our youngest campers enjoy creating wonderful memories with their new found friends. Campers and counselors live in cabins with a built-in bathroom during this special two-day/one-night camping experience.

Camp Namanu is proud to provide financial assistance to youth and families each summer. Scholarships are provided through generous donations from individuals, organizations and partners.

Please register for your first choice of sessions and pay a required deposit before submitting applications for financial assistance.

HEAR FROM OUR CAMPERS

Kasen, attended Mini Blue Wing for his first time at the age of 6 though his first visit was to family camp in 2009 when he was 9 days old. Since then he has returned for Family Camp every year it has been offered and many service weekends, initially hanging out in Raker doing arts and crafts, and now eagerly wanting to go on hikes and write letters to Mr Skriggleboggle.
