Building on elements of our MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM, our High School Program dives deeper into post-secondary goal setting and goal achievement through mentoring, career and college readiness, and community-based learning, advocacy, and activism. Our program focuses on identifying “sparks,” which are student’s self-identified passions that catalyze personal growth, as well as building and achieving a plan for post-secondary pursuits.

EXPERIMENTAL LEARNING

A key component of the career and college readiness aspect of the High School Program is partnerships with outside community organizations, businesses/business groups, local colleges/universities, and job training programs. Partnerships leverage both existing relationships and new contacts to expand student opportunities for post-secondary activities. We understand how it can be daunting to build new relationships – that’s why our program supports students in developing their social and cultural capital in an effort to expand career and college opportunities.

PARTNERSHIPS

Originally launched in 2010 and redesigned in 2019 through a grant from Meyer Memorial Trust, the High School Program is currently active in two schools, one in David Douglas School District and one in Reynolds School District.
