Josh Todd

Chief Executive Officer

Josh Todd joins Camp Fire Columbia today as its new President and CEO.  Josh holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs with a concentration in public administration and policy analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Aurora University in Illinois.  His professional career began as an AmeriCorps member with the Bay Area Youth Agency Consortium where he conducted street outreach, HIV education and testing, and ran peer education groups for students in Marin County.  He went on to work for the City & County of San Francisco Youth Commission and moved to Portland, OR in 2002 where he was Multnomah County’s Youth Development Coordinator and then Director of the Commission on Children, Families & Community.  In this role he was the adult lead on a youth organizing effort to create the nation’s first Bill of Rights written by and for children and youth.  Our Bill of Rights: Children + Youth was adopted by both Multnomah County and City of Portland and led to the successful creation of YouthPass which currently provides 15,000 youth in the Portland Metro area with free bus passes.

After serving 12 years with Multnomah County he took the position of Executive Director of Campus Compact of Oregon.  For 7 years he put his background in youth and community development and organizational change related to racial justice and equity to work promoting collaborative learning, racial justice & equity, and campus-K12 partnerships. Under Josh’s leadership Campus Compact of Oregon grew to become the largest and most diverse higher education membership organization made up of 28 college and university presidents as well as 15 K12 leaders and education nonprofit directors.   In his personal life, Josh is a father of two and a fair weather runner who dreams of completing his 6th marathon one day soon.  He is excited to deepen Camp Fire Columbia’s commitment to racial equity and youth development so more youth can find their spark, lift their voices, and create positive change in their communities today!
