Staff Bios

I grew up over the years in NE Portland and spent my school years at many of the Portland Public Schools. I spent six years living in Mammoth Lakes in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. There I took full advantage of life as a grand adventure skiing and exploring the mountains and high desert landscape. Now having returned to Portland I spent the past year working at Sunnyside Environmental School as the school’s Sustainability Coordinator. I look forward to continuing my work with youth and enjoying what I do.

This is my first year working with Campfire Columbia but I have worked with youth throughout my life. I ran an intercity after school program in Bakersfield, CA. I have been a camper, counselor, and staff member at Calvin Crest Conferences, a summer camp in Oakhurst, CA. And this last year I lived in Waikanae, New Zealand helping run youth camps and a volunteer program. Besides working with youth I love hiking, road trips, being crafty, rummaging through thrift stores and making homemade salsa.

Megan graduated with her Masters in Education in 2010.  She got started with Camp Fire as a camper and a counselor at Namanu as a youngster and treasures the impact it had on her.  She is excited to share her energy and passion for life and learning with Portland kids.  In her off time, she loves to cook delicious meals, camp along the water, and spend time with her friends and family.
