1. What is Camp Fire?
Camp Fire is a youth development organization for boys and girls that builds caring, confident youth and future leaders through a variety of fun activities. We serve youth ages 3-18 in Clark, Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties.
2. What does it cost?
Registration with us is $17.00 per child per year. This cost covers local program registration fees for Camp Fire. Adult membership cost is $22.00 per year. *Scholarships are available.
3. Is there a uniform?
Camp Fire colors are red, white and blue. Your child will need plain dark blue or khaki bottoms and a plain white shirt. These can be any clothes your child already owns as long as they are the right color We recommend an award vest to complete the uniform. This is available through our local Camp Fire office for $20.50.
4. Is there a product sale?
Camp Fire requires every registered youth member to participate in a fund raising activity. Camp Fire sells Brown and Haley chocolates from mid Jan to mid Feb. There is also an option to participate in a Fun Run to meet the membership fund raising responsibility.
5. What day and time are meetings?
Meeting schedule is based on the availability of your child’s Club Leader and the children in the club. Clubs may meet weekly, every other week, or on a monthly basis for 1 to 2 hours.
6. Who are the Club Leaders?
Club Leaders are volunteers who have expressed an interest in working with Camp Fire children. Each volunteer must submit an application and references. References are verified and a criminal background check is completed before volunteers are permitted to work with Camp Fire kids. We’re always looking for new leaders!!!
7. How is Camp Fire USA different from scouting programs?
Camp Fire is all inclusive and co-educational. Outdoor skills are important to our kids & we have access to Camp Fire’s own Camp Namanu for overnight adventures. Camp Fire creates opportunities for kids to discover themselves and make an impact on the world around them. Our programming is flexible and can be delivered in a variety of settings.

9. How do I get involved as a Leader?
It’s easy to lead Camp Fire kids! Each age group has a curriculum book to help you organize your meetings and there are many options to choose from to make it flexible. We are here to support you along the way with leader meetings, free curriculum book your first year, trainings and a mentor.
